It has been confirmed by a developer that Dawn Of War 2 will be patched on release day. There has been a lot of unhappiness from fans upon learning that the game only ships with five maps for skirmish(based on PC Gamer UK review). Relic has stepped in to calm fans by saying they will release new maps as downloadable content.

Please understand that Byron's interview material was from awhile ago. We have been keeping our DLC plans under wraps but now that the news is public I can confirm that more maps will be shipping in our Release Day Patch. Have a nice day.
Great news. I'm really looking forward to the beta and the final release. Dawn of War 2 will be releasing on February 23rd.
