A Kotaku news story reported that Age of Conan developer Funcom has decided to close half of all its servers. The Oceania(that's Australia, New Zealand territory) region is the hardest hit with 16 servers to be closed with only six left in operation. And I quote:
Funcom's line is that this will improve player experience, with busier servers meaning busier, more enjoyable worlds. And in a small way, they're right. But in a bigger way? Going from 49 servers to 18 shows just how quickly and how savagely this game has tanked.
It really doesn't look good for Age of Conan. Pcgame.com.my has slashed the price by more than 50% and is now selling it for RM 69.90 Possibly unsold stock.
