Id Software's browser based Quake Live! is now available for everyone in the open beta. Be warned that the site has been hammered by traffic and that there is an actual queue to register in the beta. Quake Live! features the same fast and frenetic gameplay of Quake 3 while hosting many servers, match making and persistent stat tracking.
I have been playing the closed beta and can say it's great. The only issue is with the servers being not very good for those in Asia. Hopefully the open beta will have added a couple of new servers nearer to our region. A game that requires precise aiming like this will need a low ping server.
