DICE Announces Battlefield 1943! Early Screenshots! Debut Trailer!

Shacknews confirmed rumours today by reporting DICE announcement that they are indeed working on Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 1943. Bad Company 2 will be getting a PC release unlike the first game.

Battlefield 1943 will be using the new engine that powers Battlefield Bad Company 2. And I quote:

"Bad Company 2 takes everything that players liked in the original and ups the ante - more vehicles, more destruction and more team play," said Battlefield franchise executive producer Karl Magnus Troedsson. "Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past classic coming to life with brand new technology that we're eager to get into players hands."

Hallelujah! A proper Battlefield game. It's been a long time DICE, It's been a long time! Interesting to see them do a remake rather than a proper sequel. 1943 will be multi platform just like Bad Company 2.

Reports indicate that Battlefield 1943 will be a downloadable title that will be available on PSN and XBOX Live Marketplace. EA has said that they are aiming for a Summer release for 1943 and Winter for Battlefield Bad Company 2.
