Left 4 Dead Weekend 50% Discount Saw 3000% Increase In Sales

Shacknews reported that Valve co founder Gabe Newell announced in a DICE keynote that the weekend sales saw a 3000% increase of sales for Left 4 Dead. The sales during weekend was larger than the titles launch sales.

The sales also saw Steam new customers jump to 1600%. In the same keynote, Valve released their study discount/sales correlation:

10% sale = 35% increase in sales (real dollars, not units shipped)
25% sale = 245% increase in sales
50% sale = 320% increase in sales
75% sale = 1470% increase in sales

It was obvious that Left 4 Dead saw a huge jump in the number of players. I realised there were more newbies(not a bad thing) as well as griefers.
