Valve boss Gabe Newell at the Games For Change conference stated that Portal 2 has sold more than 3 million copies in total so far. Joystiq reported that he didn’t give a breakdown of the sales on different platforms. To give you an idea, Portal sold 4 million copies in total(this is however on the consoles) to this date. Since Valve literally gave the game away for free on Steam(for a single day), I suspect the number on PC for the first game would be quite high. But 3 million since launch(April 21st, less than 3 months) for Portal 2 is certainly quite a feat. You can read my review of Portal 2 here. I thought it was a remarkable game which everyone should play. Unless of course you hate good music, humour, witty characters, smart level design, and brilliant story telling… then maybe you might not like Portal 2.
