Battlefield 3 Boycott? And They Are Serious…
Rock Paper Shotgun reported that a group of gamers are planning to boycott DICE’s Battlefield 3. There’s a reddit campaign underway to boycott the game. Their bone of contention seems to be with the DLC that comes with those that pre order the game and the fact that it will not be available for others. The issue apparently isn’t with the battle For Karkand expansion pack(those that pre order will get some classic BF2 maps and a few other extra new ones), but with some DLC weapons that is exclusive to them.
While gamers will be able to purchase the Battle For Karkand expansion separately, the exclusive weapons and items(Type 88 Light Machine Gun, DAO-12 Shotgun, Flechette Shotgun Ammo, and a Flash Suppressor) wont be available to anyone(with no way to purchase it). RPS has contacted EA to comment on this. I say… it’s way to early to jump to conclusions that they will not release this weapon pack. But I definitely see how those that pre order will have an advantage.. at least for sometime until EA decides to release the DLC pack. Will update once more news on this surfaces.
