Steam Coming To A TV Near You
Bigdownload reports that Valve announced that Steam will soon have a ‘big picture mode’. This means you will be able to use the steam client on your TV or any computer display. Not much other than this is known for now. I'm unsure if it means just running the steam client on a TV(without a CPU proper)/monitor. Certainly sounds like it. The press release states that ‘With Big Picture mode, gaming opportunities for Steam partners and customers become possible via PCs and Macs on any TV or computer display in the house.’ Valve also says that they have been working on making navigation using a controller for the TV possible. Valve will be talking more about this at GDC(which is happening right now). I’ll post any updates that pop up about this in this post.
