Steam To Get Video Recording Function Soon?
Bigdownload has reported that a certain ‘political gamer’ has posted some information about his trip to Valve. A Team Fortress 2 community member, he has a lode of new info on future plans on the series and Steam. The big one is that he says that Valve are planning to roll out a video recording feature ‘very soon’ to Steam. This would completely make third party recording software like FRAPS unnecessary. Yay! He also reports that Gabe Newell has expressed interest at trying to make Steam working on the iOS and Andriod mobile platform. In other news, apparently Meet the Medic video is real and is nearly finished! THIS IS NOT MEDICINE! OOOOPPS!

good to hear they're doing more with Steam than it already has. kinda foresaw this too when they implemented the screenshot system.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Steam is a force to reckon with. They killed a company that made in game web browser software. Just a week after open beta, Steam launched a faster less CPU intensive in game web browser. Now the company no idea what happened to them.
ReplyDeleteVideo recording is very complex. If the options are good, with multiple file formats and recording options, I can see people not using FRAPS any longer.
And unlike other digital distribution services, they are going for the jugular not just with the games on offer but with the features within the Steam client.
