Windows 8 Screens Leaked - Integration of Windows Live To Your OS

Not gaming news but since we at Malaysian Gamer are PC gamers that game on Windows(primarily), this information might interest many of you(and us of course). Chinese news site Win7china released a few leaked screens of the supposed pre release version of Windows 8. The major feature in Windows 8 seem to be Windows Live ID integration to your operating system. You can log in to Windows 8 using your Live ID account(you can still set up a local account). Your profile picture is now displayed on the system tray. Some small improvements to the task bar(like the ability to see a progress bar for driver installations) and improved installation speed. Doesn’t sound all too huge a shift from Windows 7, but we’ll see. This is pre release stuff(unverified news), so take this info with a grain of salt. You can read an analysis of these screenshots in English from this site. Again this is not official or verified.

  1. I wish Microsoft make the HomeGroup thing way much more user friendly though ;( And makes the start menu dynamic! Hardly believe the current Library menu there are hard-coded.

Windows Live integration? Man I dont even bother to use Windows Live...

  2. Yeah, based on the current Windows Live apps, I'm not sure what this entails.

  3. You know, maybe they could have a cloud storage service that saves you windows settings or something. Valve does it. I'm sure Microsoft could too.
