EA announced at GDC today that their free to play Battlefield 2 variant, Battlefield Free4Play, will go open beta beginning April 4th. The game is currently in closed beta and like their previous free to play effort, Battlefield Heroes, it requires a browser plug in to play. Hopefully by the time it goes beta, there’ll be better servers closer to the region. One of the major problems I faced trying to play this is the lack of Asian servers. If you’ve been wanting to try this out but have not had the luck to get on the closed beta, you don’t have to wait much longer… well at least for another one more month.
