UPDATE Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Rumours Surfaces - Info In The Coming Weeks
UPDATE 3: It's also confirmed that they are indeed working on a free to play micro transaction supported Call of Duty Online(no actual title was announced) for the China market. They didn't say if it will be available else where.
UPDATE 2: VG247 covered an Activision earnings call where CEO Bobby Kottick announced that new info will be released in the coming weeks on the new Call of Duty and it will have the biggest marketing campaign they have ever done. In other news, Activision reported they made a tonne of money for Q1. Surprise! Earnings increased by 76 percent in the first quarter of 2011 and interestingly, PC revenue has increased from $49 million to $129 million with 50% of revenue coming from downloadable content.
UPDATE: The CoD Online variant rumour might just be an online stat tracking tool. Will elaborate more when there is more info.
The last time there was a Modern Warfare 3 reveal rumour, it turned out to be a fan made film project. This time, VG247 reveals that this months issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK has a page teases readers on one of next month feature(June issue). It basically states ‘ the biggest game in the world returns’ and has a green number 3 on the page. Looks like a clear indication of a Modern Warfare 3 reveal. We absolutely do know that Activision isn’t sitting idly with reportedly three studios working on a Call of Duty game of some sort. To top this news off, there is an even more crazier news of an online variant of Call of Duty. Rock Paper Shotgun got tipped off that Activision might be announcing a separate Call of Duty game that they speculate, might go toe to toe with Battlefield Play 4 Free in the free to play arena. Interesting theory, we shall see if this is the case. This post will be updated if there is breaking news about either games.
