UPDATE 4: Portal 2 is now available for everyone! It is live. She's still alive.
UPDATE 3: The Ball and Super Meat Boy challenge completed. Projected launch in 1 hours 18 minutes. That's 12.51pm Malaysian time. Oddly the Steam product page still says 11 hours to unlock.
UPDATE 2: Audiosurf challenge completed. Release moved to 3pm Malaysian time. 10 hours and counting.
UPDATE: The Aperture Science site has reverted to starched powered power cells and is using the potatos achieved by players to power the launch. Potatos are being used up fast. Based on my calculations of 14 potatos per second, there will not be any more potatos in about 8 hours. Not sure what happens next.
The potato powered reboot is nearly done. With 7 games on the list done, the projected release of Portal 2 now points to Tuesday 4.30 pm(Malaysian time). By my projection, if the computer reboot is a success, I think the release could be as early as tomorrow noon or morning. Now all that is left are the more challenging games like, Audiosurf, Killing Floor, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, The Ball and Super Meat Boy. I’ll update this post when the challenge is complete. Meanwhile, RPS wrote about this mysterious message the Valve ARG Wiki posted that apparently is meant for a CJ(Cave Johnson?). The message mentions the Borealis. Valve is trolling us aren’t they? Or is there really a chance that something Half Life Episode 3 will be announced? I just think Valve likes teasing us.
—LOG FROM [ REDACTED ], BY J.H. TO C.J.—
1. We designed the entire thing to be very, very durable. It was easy to get the materials since everyone’s been thinking it’s a simple icebreaker ship. Ha.
2. We have made sure to strip it of anything not necessary, so that we have plenty of space for it. It doesn’t have any backup supplies in the event the crew runs out of food, though. And there isn’t much food onboard in the first place.
3. In the event you need to send it off all of a sudden, use the OR box with code ‘hb1′.
That’s all, C.J. Not much else I can tell you other than this won’t leave a blight on our record. Mesa is going to be sore when they see what we’ve done.
