White - Speaking About Art Games

There are games that are like canvases for the players imagination and creativity such as Spore or Little Big Planet. These games are more about how the player express themselves within the games system rather than the game designers making a point. And then there is White, which is quite literally a canvas for the players artistic expression.

Shoot or blow up these little critters

White is a student project from some college students from France. It’s using the Unreal Engine and was made using the Unreal Development Kit which is available for free. It’s a first person shooter where you shoot these paint blob creatures that run around on this white canvas(which you are on).

Some examples of the type of artwork you can make with White

Using your tool of death/weapon(or artistry in this game), you can manipulate how these creatures leave paint blobs on the canvas. The end result looks like a piece of abstract art. I suck at art, so I have no idea if I’ve made a Mona Lisa with this game or not. I’m pretty sure I didn’t though.

Even if you get bored of creating your master piece, at least you could start murdering these little paint blob creatures for a change. Quite a nice stress relieving activity.

NOTE: You might have issues with using the WASD keys like me. You can use the key pad arrow keys instead.
