GRID 2 Gameplay Footage - Cars, Road, And Sun Shafts

Codemasters has put out two videos of GRID 2 in action. One an urban familiar looking Chicago level and another one taking place in an open California coast. Prison Architect Goes Alpha - Pre-Orders Opened

Introversion has announced that Prison Architect is now in Alpha. They released this gameplay clip of the game, demoing how the game works. Well sort of. I think you'll agree it's a pretty damn unique way of making a gameplay trailer. It's a mix of a classic management game like Theme Hospital and base building ala Dwarf Fortress. It's early in development still but you can pre-order now here, and get instant access to the alpha. Like they say in the trailer, it is an unfinished game. Watch the video below...

Total War : Rome II First Gameplay Footage Emerges - Elephants Confirmed!

I've been rather excited to see Creative Assembly's sequel to their mega hit, Rome Total War. At last, they've released in game footage of the sequel. It's rather short but it showcases the naval invasions that will be a brand new feature in a Total War game. Never been a fan of the naval battles in the latest Total War games so expect me to click on the auto resolve button. Units look great, animation... cinematic, but the proof will be in the pudding. Actual hands on. I'm cautiously optimistic. Watch the gameplay footage below...

Greg Zeschuk & Ray Muzyka Leaving Bioware

In what comes as a surprise, Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, founders of Bioware have announced plans of departing Bioware. They are retiring. From the very beginning of the company, the two doctors have been synonymous with Bioware, often being the very definition of Bioware(and image). Bioware was bought by Electronic Arts in 2007 and many feared this would spell the end of Bioware producing quality title. Many predicted Bioware would be pushing forth sequels to their games year after year(which is sort of happening). But the acquisition also meant Bioware grew quite big with studios set up handling the Command & Conquer reboot as well as incorporating Mythic(MMORPG developer) into the Bioware stable. The doctors(they are both qualified doctors) have no plans to get back into the gaming industry. As a fan of their work(Baldur's Gate II) I bid them a fond farewell. Adieu Bioware doctors... you will be missed. Certainly a very iconic face of the gaming industry.

Dragon Age III: Inquisition Announced - Using Frosbite 2 Engine

EA has announced that Dragon Age III is a real thing. Sub titled inquisition, the game will be worked on by the original team that developed Dragon Age: Origins... yes the good Dragon Age. Mike Darrah the game's producer had this to say "We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armour and followers…. Yeah, that kind of customisation. We’ve started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this." Holy crap a new engine using FrostBite 2(the engine powering Battlefield 3). While he didn't let loose any information regarding gameplay mechanics or story. There's been a bit of a leak about the plot which apparently is related to some shadowy figure pulling strings to throw the region into chaos. There's civil war, and you become the Inquisitor, revealing who the bad guy is. Sounds awesome. Dragon Age III: Inquisition is targeted for a late 2013 release.

Medal of Honor Warfighter Single Player Basilan Gameplay Trailer

EA has released an 8 minute gameplay trailer of Medal of Honor Warfighter. The video puts the spotlight on a level in Basilan. However you put it, EA isn't joking around by making this game set in multiple spots around the world. Medal of Honor Warfighter releases October 26th

Guild Wars 2 Is Pretty Popular - Sold 2 Million Copies 2 Weeks After Launch

Guild Wars 2, the big hitter MMORPG from ArenaNet & NCsoft has sold a total of 2 million copies. And that's just after 14 days past release day. ArenaNet President, Mike O’Brien stated “We’re continually fine-tuning the game to deliver the polished experience our players expect, and we’re already working on new adventures and experiences to introduce into this truly dynamic online world.”. There is no doubt that Guild Wars 2 had huge amount of hype and backing to it. Publishers NCsoft has pumped in a lot of money for the marketing campaign and development of the game. In comparison, Bioware's Star War's The Old Republic only managed 1 million copies a week after launch even with EA as backers. Guild Wars 2 is definitely evidence that the MMORPG market is not entirely over saturated. The business model plays a huge role and whether subscription based MMO's are a thing of the past, I do not know(Guild Wars 2 has no subscriptions, just purchase the game and play like any other game). What is certain though is that it's getting more difficult to rationalise a subscription based MMO these days.

Steam's Big Picture Mode For The TV Going Beta Soon!

I would have never expected this to ever happen, but Steam is moving to your living room now. The Big Picture mode isn't quite going to compete with console... it's still a PC, just using your TV screen. Steam will handle how the game is displayed in super high res on the TV. And yes... there is controller support. PC Gamer reports that in a New York Times article about Valve, it is stated that beta will launch on Monday. No news yet on how to get on the beta. Anyone excited about this? Or is this really not you would be interested in as a PC Gamer? Big Picture trailer below...

Dishonored Developer Documentary Part 1 - Inception

Arkane Studios shares with us how they came up with Dishonored and its unique world. A Steampunk Victorean era alternate reality world isn't exactly a common game theme. The art direction, narrative, and gameplay combine to offer a uniqueness I have not seen in a tripple A game in quite a while. Check out the first in the series of developer documentaries below...

Football Manager 2013 Announced! Best Ever Football Manager

You'd think they would need to announce things like these any more. But they still do. SEGA and Sports Interactive are at it again this year. They've announced Football Manager 2013. This year, their bringing two new game modes, classic and challenge mode. Classic mode is basically pairing down the game to manage mostly your team tactics in game and watching text highlights, like the old Championship Manager games. Challenge mode pits you against the odds, challenges that put you on the edge of your managerial role. Like taking Wolverhampton to win the Premier League... okay maybe not as extreme as that. The game will be better integrated with Steam and Network play will allow you to invite your Steam friends and view a worldwide leaderboard. Check out the announcement trailer/video for a breakdown of new stuff below...

New Call of Juarez Announcement Imminent

This is a no brainer... but Techland posted a new image on the Call of Juarez official Facebook page. The image has the date 6th September 2012, possibly( No I'm sure of it) a date for the announcement. The image seems to showcase some broody looking character and looks like its set in old days. Taking Call of Juarez back to its roots. Which is a good idea considering the mess that was Call of Juarez: The Cartel(set in modern times). The date seems to hint that the announcement is very soon, so I'll keep an eye out for it.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 PC Minimum Requirements Out

Treyarch has released the system requirements for the PC version of Call of Duty Black Ops 2. What's notable is that nothing is really noteworthy or extraordinary. Other than the requirements for four hardened micro-gnomes with frontline combat(might be hard procuring these). In this post, Treyarch detailed the enhancements to the PC version of the game. They include running the game on DirectX 11(it only supports DirextX11), enhanced lighting, bloom, anti aliasing, depth of field, ambient occlusion to name a few. Also, absolutely no cap or limit on frame rate. Check out the minimum requirements below...

A mod that has been in development for aeon's. The first trailer for Black Mesa Source was released back in 2008. UPDATE: Torchlight II Releasing On September 20th - Launch Trailer Up

UPDATE: Runic Games has released a launch trailer for Torchlight II. Watch it below...

The much anticipated sequel to Torchlight has finally got a release date! It's September 20th, a few weeks more to wait. Torchlight II promises to be bigger than it's predecessor in every single way. Maintaining a low USD$19.99 price tag, it absolutely befuddles me if people don't buy this... especially if you love action RPG's. All four new classes feel a lot more 'actioney' and have super cool skills right from the get go. Skills that you feel are very powerful. Read our beta impressions here.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist Ghost Playthrough - Going Stealth

Ubisoft put out a video of a 7 minute playthrough of the upcoming Splinter Cell: Blacklist. This is the same E3 2012 playthrough we say in June with the exception that this video takes a different approach to the mission. Completely stealth... well except for that one kill. This demo shows that by going stealth you can change the way the mission plays out. Which is pretty cool. Splinter Cell: Blacklist releases Spring 2013. Watch the video below...
