Amnesia: The Dark Descent A Success For Frictional Games
The horrorific first person shocker(no pun intended) has done quite well for its indie developer, Frictional Games. In a blog post on their site, Frictional Games reports that sales are near to 200,000 units now. They are now confident about the PC as a gaming platform and in particular, online PC platforms(I suppose it did extremely well on Steam). Frictional Games attributes their success to media coverage and good free publicity. They pointed out user generated videos as being extremely popular and could have well played a big roll in helping it generate the sales numbers. Well one things for certain, Frictional Games will still be in the business of making games. Looking forward to more of their spooky games.

For every game they made from now on, I will pay full price instead of waiting for discount. They deserve it.
ReplyDeleteWell good for you. They've always made good horror games. And it's good that Amnesia has given built more awareness on their studio. I still think penumbra is pretty good.
