Mojang, the team developing Minecraft revealed at GDC that the second game they will be working on will be called Scrolls. It is a card battle/strategy game. The game will be played on a chess like board and the objective is to attack and bring down the opponents ‘king’. It will feature a single player campaign, a multiplayer competitive element and will have new decks released all the time(free to play but with decks that you can buy). You can read an in depth interview with Majong’s Jakob Porsen about the game that Gamasutra did. Mojang is planning to release a private alpha version of the game by the end of this year. Going after the Magic The Gathering crowd eh… Odd choice but the game looks like a very simple Magic The Gathering game.
