Sick of glossy games that suck? You think gameplay is more important for something to be good? Well then, you might(or might not) want to take look at Platformerman. It’s as the title describes, a platformer. You are a man, well actually you’re just a square dot. You jump over things, hence platforming. Caphish?
The objective is to destroy all the little blocks you see and get to the end of the level. Green blocks get destroyed when you touch them. Red blocks require you to drop a bomb(press spacebar) to destroy them. Use your bombs to destroy the walls and platforms too. Watch out! You can destroy the platform beneath you and fall to your squarey death .
Despite the blocky, simplistic aesthetics, Platformerman controls fluidly. Your square dot slides a little so you need to time your jumps right. You also have the Super Meat Boy type wall jumps. Your square can slide down the slide of walls and jump up of them. Overall, a very simple and good platformer. You don’t need excellent graphics to make platforming feel good.
