PC Gamers Getting Modern Warfare 3 DLCs Next Month - Activision Hasn't Forgotten Us

Shacknews reported that Activision has announced that the DLCs for Modern Warfare 3 which to this point, have been conspicuously missing on the PC, will make an appearance on the platform in the form of a 'Content Collection'. No word on the price point of the collection yet but it has been said that it will be released on May 8. Not a very good track record from Activision considering that their stat service, Call of Duty Elite, has not been available to PC owners. It's more evident that Acitivsion is treating PC Gamers like a lower class of gamers. But still, Call of Duty titles year in and year out still manage to sell a bucket load on the PC. I wonder when the trend will die out.

Warlock: Master of The Arcane Beta First Play Video

Warlock: Master of The Arcane is a turn based strategy game from Paradox Interactive that borrows a lot of its mechanics from Sid Meier's Civilization V. It is based off of the Majesty games and is a fantasy themed game but the graphics right down to the gameplay mechanics, it takes a lot from the venerable strategy game. I played through an early portion of the game and discover the similarities and the uniqueness of Warlock. Seems quite good, but does it have enough of uniqueness to stand on its own? UPDATE Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC Arriving For Free For PC & Mac On May 8th - Video Preview Up

Valve has announced that a new DLC called the Perpetual Testing Initiative will be available for PC & Mac owners of the game on May 8th. The DLC, while not adding any new content, will come with a user level creation tool that will allow gamers and modders to develop their own puzzles and automatically publish them onto Steam Workshop. According to Chet Faliszek, Left 4 Dead 2 will be next in line to receive the easy to use and publish level creation tool. I'm not sure if this means there wont be any further DLC's for Portal 2. Considering Portal 2 was such a huge hit and was certainly a game that had limited replay value, continuous DLC's would have helped. But knowing Valve and the time it takes for them to develop anything, perhaps leaving this to the community to make their own content was the most prudent thing to do. Anyone still playing Portal 2?

Malaysian Gamer Guild Wars 2 Beta Meet Up

Guild Wars 2 has a beta weekend(starting today). It is available for those that pre purchased the game. We are having a Malaysian Gamer in game meet up. Guild wars 2 has my hopes up for the next biggest MMORPG, with it's unique personal story driven chracters, competitive world vs world and dynamic events which are scattered through out Tyria. There are just so many things to talk about in such a short span of time, easily this is going to take over my life as I know it. In the first night of launch for its beta weekend, I literally spent hours digging through the massive cities that stretched dozens of kilometers. If you can imagine a real involving city with NPCs that have their own lives to run as well. That is what a capital in Tyria feels like. Former Halo Devs Bringing Republique To The PC & Mac

Former Halo devs at Camouflaj have announced that their first project, Republique which has been announced for iOS will also be released for the PC and Mac. The project currently going through its rounds in a Kickstarter campaign to raise up to USD$500,000. Republique features a unique premise. You play as some guide for Hope, the protagonist. You communicate with her through surveillance cameras and indirectly help her to escape a high security installation. Check out the PC announcement trailer below...

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters Donya Fortress Gameplay Trailer

DICE has released another trailer for the upcoming DLC for Battlefield 3, Close Quarters. This trailer puts the focus on the Donya Fortress map(that will be one of the 4 maps in the DLC). The DLC will focus on 'close quarters' infantry combat with smaller tighter corridors. Donya Fortress has that and a central open courtyard where you can expect to be sniped. Close Quarters releases in June. Watch the trailer below...

Torchlight II Priced USD$20 On Steam - Available for Pre Order

Runic Games sequel to Torchlight hasn't got a release date yet... other than summer 2012... but it has popped up on the Steam store. It's going for USD$19.99 and if you pre order Torchlight II now, you will receive Torchlight free. If you own Torchlight, you'll get a gift-able copy. Torchlight was a runaway success when it was released since there was hardly any competition, it was polished, addictive and great value for money. This time it's a little different. Diablo III is around the corner... but Torchlight II is only 20 dollars and has 4 player co-op as well. I guess it is no question which game will come out tops, but I sincerely hope Runic Games will hit another success with Torchlight II. These guys know how to make action RPG's and deserve the support.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Dead... For Real - New Studio Formed

RPS posted that Vostok Games, a new studio formed by S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 devs have sent word that they are working on an MMOFPS. A pretty huge aim for a newly formed studio. They confirmed that  S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 has been put on hold and the whole team will be focusing on the new game. All I can say is NYEEEEEEEET! The new MMOFPS is called Survarium. Not quite S.T.A.L.K.E.R but still post apocalyptic. They've released a dev video diary detailing the drama surrounding the uncertainty of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 and why they chose to go this route. Call of Duty Elite Pissed Off A Lot Of People

Activision product director, Noah Heller told MCVUK that "There’s a lot of people we pissed off all the way back to November, and we have to show them we are not going to let that happen again. But we have started fulfilling our promises and people are starting to get it is real value for money." This is in relation to the stat tracking service not working as intended when Modern Warfare 3 was launched. The PC version of the Elite service is yet to be released and I have to wonder if it is in their plans to even support the PC for this service. It's been six months since the launch of Modern Warfare 3. Activision made no statement about the PC version which leads me to doubt their commitment to making this available to PC gamers. Activision have a planned announcement of a new Call of Duty game on May 1st.

The Walking Dead Launch Trailer

Telltale Games first episode of The Walking Dead adventure games makes it debut today and to celebrate that fact, here's a launch trailer. It sports a rather comic illustration style of 3D graphics. Telltale has been putting out a lot of these popular IP adventure games for sometime now and they've been rather uneven in terms of quality. PES 2013 Début Trailer - Cristiano Ronaldo Does His Moves

PES 2013 is a thing. Konami tries to topple FIFA footie crown again this year with PES 2013. There info on the PES 2012 site about new features in PES 2013. The three main innovations include PES Full Manual Control; control passes and shots manually with precision, PlayerID; which adds more characteristics and realism in player animation, and ProActive AI; improved AI in terms of making the game play much more realistically... tactically. Lots of mention about improvements on goalkeepers. Konami seems to be going their own way in terms of making improvements and seem to be making the game more complex and perhaps... pedantic. I could be wrong and this could finally make PES the best football game as it once was. But I wouldn't hedge my bets on it. Debut trailer below...

Crysis 3 Début Gameplay Trailer - More Arrows... Okay I'll Stop This

Does Crytek's third in the Crysis series push the technological spectrum of PC's? Or does it find a happy medium? Well of course we can't know all this at this point, but look at the oh so pretty graphics! The lighting looks much improved. At this point, any discussion about how much improved the graphics are is moot... the game is a year out and we only have this trailer to go about. It looks great no doubt. Also note, new Seph enemy. Salem Lets Play Videos - Just What The Heck Is Salem?

I find it quite interesting that Paradox has released a bunch of 'let play' videos of an unreleased game. The game in question is Salem, a crafting MMO. It such a unique premise for an MMO. Make your character, build up a colony and survive(there is perma death in the game). The best way to explain what the game is about to show people how you play Salem... which is exactly what Paradox has done here. Videos below...

New Call Of Duty To Be Revealed May 1st - Black Ops 2?

It is also that time of year... for a new Call of Duty title. Activision has put up a countdown which ends on May 1st. A début trailer for a new Call of Duty game will premiere in the basketball playoffs on TNT(we probably wont have the opportunity to watch it live, but I'm sure the video will appear on the internetz). Rumour has it that it will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. What's almost certain is that it will be a Treyarch Call of Duty title since last year was Infinity Wards turn with Modern Warfare 3. Treyarch's Black Ops was their most succesful title to date so the odds of a Black Ops 2? Pretty high. Tune in May 1st for the reveal.

Valve Handbook For New Employees Outed!

PC Gamer posted a curious little news story today that an internal Valve document has leaked from their Seattle office. Unfortunately this 'document' has no info about the much questioned Half Life 3. Instead it is a tongue and cheek handbook introducing new employees of Valve into the folds of this very interesting company. Valve is not like many other huge companies... the handbook opens with a header titled 'Welcome To Flatland' as an homage to their horizontal employee structure. It's quite the read which offers an insight on how Valve works. You can download the pdf copy here.

SimCity A Relaunch Of The Franchise

Arma 3 Stratis Showcase Trailer - Great Place To Have A Vacation

Stratis is by the way, the one of the island that Arma 3 is set on(Limnos is the main island). It's a peaceful island with NATO military camp. Oh look a UFO! Oh no it's a helicopter taking off at night. This is one of the most realistic environments I have ever seen in a game. The underwater bit looks like it needs a bit of work though. Trailer below...

Prey 2 Not Cancelled - It Wont Be Out This Year

Contrary to rumours, Bethesda clarified today that Prey 2 has not been cancelled. It's been held back and wont meet the 2012 release. In a statement to VG247, Bethesda clarified that "The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards. Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans. We have made a substantial investment in game development to deliver the experience fans want." I'm not sure if this means a redesign(it often always meant this) of the game. Don't expect to get your hands on Prey 2 any time soon.

THQ Delays Darksiders II - New Release Date August 2012

Darksiders II is getting a PC version on launch, but its been delayed(the release date of the game that is). Originally dated June 2012, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Zelda'esque(the game mechanics put it close to a Zelda like game) title has been given a new release of August 2012. "Nothing is more important to us than quality and thankfully our company’s current operational position allows us to make the right choice for Darksiders II," read THQ's official statement on the games website. ORION: Dino Beatdown Gameplay Video - Dinosaurs Get Their Large Behinds Handed To Them

Spiral Games are an indie developer that was working on ORION: Prelude, a multiplayer shooter with dinosaurs in it. ORION: Dino Beatdown is an open world, class cooperative survival shooter. That's a mouthful... but what it basically means is that it's Left 4 Dead survival mode with zombies. It releases on Steam on April 20th. Gameplay video below...

Dishonored Début Trailer - Scraggly Man Turns Out To Be The Assassin

Remember that post about Bethesda hinting at something? I posted that up just a few hours ago?(scroll down a bit). It turns out the picture is of the protagonist in Dishonored who starts out as a prisoner. Dishonored is a steam punk/Victorian era styled stealth/assassin game by Arkane Studios. Yeah, I can't really say what genre of game this is... it is that type of game. The trailer is completely CG, but gives us a taste of what the game about. Bethesda Announcement Tomorrow - Image Of A Dirty, Scraggly Man

UPDATE: It's the Dishonored début trailer

Bethesda posted this unassuming image on twitter with a hint that there'll be an announcement tomorrow. The image is... just a dirty, scraggly man looking on to another person in the foreground. The man isn't wearing clothes(at least the top half of his body) and seems to be like a prisoner of some sort. Skyrim DLC maybe? Or maybe something about another Bethesda published game? Dishonoured maybe? Who knows... either way, stay tuned tomorrow for the conclusion.

Crysis 3 Confirmed! Prophet Is Back! But How?

The rumours were indeed correct. Crysis 3 will be set in a New York overgrown with vegetation and jungle. That's not all though, it's been enveloped by a gigantic nanodome, created by the Cell Corporation. They taken to building giant domes all across the country and guess what... Prophet is back and is heading to Liberty Dome(in New York). Don't ask! I specifically remember him committing suicide in Crysis 2. I'm not sure why the Cell want to build gigantic domes... perhaps as a zone to experiment with the alien, because there are aliens in Liberty Dome. The ones you fought in Crysis 2(the walking biped types). Crysis 3 certainly seems like Crytek's attempt to mix the urban jungle with the well... real jungle. It will be released Spring 2013 for the PC, PS3 & XBOX360. A début trailer will be out on April 23rd. Press release below...

UPDATE Crysis 3 Rumoured! Crytek Certainly Has Plans Of An Announcement

UPDATE 2: CVG reported that a Russian site site called madfanboy.com has posted leaked information about Crysis 3. It will take place after Crysis 2 in a heavily destroyed New York. New York has been overgrown by vegetation and Crysis 3 will merge the jungle setting of the first game with the city setting of the second. Makes sense that the protagonist(whoever this is) now sports a Rambo composite bow. Again, this cannot be confirmed so take it as a rumour for now.

UPDATE: Cevat Yerli posted another tweet stating that there is going to be an announcement on April 16th. It has something to do about a shooter.

The Internet is abuzz with new rumours surrounding a sequel to Crytek's premiere show piece game, Crysis. Crysis 3 has been spotted by EUrogamer.de after a simple Google search. Not sure if this can be used as any solid evidence of a Crysis 3. NeoGAF however has found these Origin box art for Crysis 3... which has now been taken down(the Origin images that is). There's certainly some announcement in the plans as Crytek's Cevat Yerli tweeted "Ah i am very excited, a few more days to go...stay tuned." The purported leaked images show a nanosuit soldier with a bow and background location seems to point out... probably London(hard to say though). Stay tuned for news regarding this.

Tribes: Ascend Released! No More Beta And It's Free To Play

In case you've missed this game, Tribes: Ascend is the spiritual successor of the classic Tribes 2 and is completely free. It's a free to play game that was in beta for a good 6 months and has, from April 12th, been officially released. The game features jet packs, fast paced shooting, death match, CTF and a host of other classic game modes. Best of all there is a server in the Singapore region that is just calling out for more player to be playing there. Come on guys go here and download the game. Dungeon Keeper Retrospective - Being Evil Has Never Been This Good

I was 17, and was in Form 4 when I installed this strategy game. I didn't know much about Peter Molyneux or Bullfrog Productions, never having had the experience of playing the Populous games or even Syndicate. Having played Dune II, Z, a bunch of other RTS's(including KKND) and Total Annihilation(it was too 'heavy' to run on my aging 486 DX2), I was beginning to have a strong fondness for strategy games. When I booted up Dungeon Keeper and watched the humourous intro, I knew I was in for something very special.

Prototype 2 Weapons Trailer - The Man Says "Boom!"

Prototype 2 James Heller isn't a man of many words... as evident in this new trailer. The trailer shows some of the weapons you can use in the game including what looks like a SWARM missile. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Mission Walkthrough 1 - Going Stealth

Ubisoft released a walkthrough video which shows the insane weapon customisation offered and stealth gameplay. It's certainly not as hardcore as the old Ghost Recon games(I mean... you can go semi invisible) but maintains the strategic planning your move by the ability to view tangos in an area. Lost Planet 3 Not A Myth - No PC Version Announced

Breaking news from Captivate 2012... Apparently Lost planet 3 is in the works. Release date is set at 2013 and they've released a trailer. There was no mention of a PC version... Lost Planet 3 is being developed by Spark Unlimited(remember Turning Point: Fall of Liberty... yeah I'm sure you don't... for good reason). Watch the trailer below...

Resident Evil 6 Releasing Earlier - October 2nd

Capcom initially set the release date for Resident Evil 6 as November 20th. While news that the studios closure has not stopped development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, I've been a bit worried since there hasn't been any media, screen or info about the game for quite a while.
