Metro: Last Light & Company of Heroes 2 Pushed Backed to March 2013
THQ today announced that Metro: Last Light and Company of Heroes has been pushed back to March 2013. THQ president Jason Rubin said "Our fourth quarter releases are the first titles that I have had the ability to materially impact, and experience told me that games needed addition development time to be market-ready,". More of a 'releasing the game when it is ready' philosophy, which is good. THQ has been under severe financial pressure lately and it is evident they have a strong Q1 2013, if only the game get shipped by that time, it might save THQ.

UPDATE: Torchlight II Release Delayed - Runic Games Still Planning For A Summer Release
UPDATE: Designer, Travis Baldree told Joystiq, that they are working hard to try to get it out by this summer. "The end of summer is September 25th or something like that, right? We're still trying to get it done for summer. It's a big game and we've still got some polish to go." he said. This does not mean it will definetely be out this summer... it's done when it's done they say and there is no definite release date yet. He clarified that they have not reached a point in development where they can announce a release date yet. I really hope this makes it this summer. Longing for a good action RPG.
In a post in the Runic Games forums, Travis Baldree explained why they still haven't set a definite date for the release of Torchlight II. Based on feedback and input they got from the beta, it seems Runic are hard at work balancing the game and we are probably not going to get Torchlight II very soon(still at least in my opinion, this year). The biggest balances changes will be on the skill system which is not your usual skill tree but one where you can select any skill except some skills are level restricted. They want to make all the skills cool and worth the extra investment and move passive skill to its own screen. The full breakdown of improvements to be done is on the very lengthy post by Travis on the Runic Games forums here. I've pre-ordered Torchlight II and seeing their commitment to making an awesome game, I don't regret it one bit. You can read my impressions of the Torchlight II beta here.

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Delayed - Now Set For Early 2013
Dan Pinchback, Creative Writer for thechineseroom(developers of Dear Esther) and currently working in collaboration with Frictional Games on Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs has stated in an interview with GameZone that the much anticipated Amnesia follow up has been delayed. Originally intended for a Halloween release this year, the game has been pushed back for an early 2013 release. "It's just slid back to early 2013. The quality of the game is the absolute first, last, and always with this development, and we felt it could do with a few more months' work to make sure that's really going to happen," he said. Those of you looking forward to a new Amnesia game will just have to make do with waiting a bit. But... it should be worth it.

Far Cry 3 Delayed By Two Months - Releasing Late November
Ubisoft announced that Far Cry 3 will be delayed to November 29th in Europe and December 4th in North America. The open world shooter finally returns to the island setting of the original with a crazy antagonist who is hell bent on killing the protagonist. Far Cry 3 was originally due for September 4th. Dan Hay, a producer at Ubisoft had this to say "We're taking more time to create the best possible gameplay experience, Far Cry 3 is a huge offering and we want every element of this insane, action-packed adventure to be of the highest possible quality for the players." Hope this means they take the time of making an awesome PC version of the game.

Tomb Raider Delayed To 2013 - Lara Croft Needs More Time
Crystal Dynamics Studio Head, Darrell Gallagher announced on the Tomb Raider forums that the prequel/re imagining of Tomb Raider will not be released on the original Fall 2012 release date. It is now set for a 2013 release. "We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve," he said. Tomb Raider sees a young Lara Croft shipwrecked on a mysterious island with homicidal inhabitants and shift to a more survival theme. It the origin story of sorts for Lara Croft. There's that E3 demo they did last year which shows the direction they are going for this new game. We've been getting quite a few news of game delays recently. I hope this is the last of it.

Bioshock Infinite Not Releasing This Year - BIOSUCKS!
2K broke our hearts... Irrational Games next game, Bioshock Infinite will not be out on the original October 19 release date. Instead, it has now been set as a February 27th 2013 release. Irrational's Ken Levine has this to say "When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we’ve come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February 26, 2013. We wanted to let our loyal (and very patient!) fans know this as soon as possible." Aw shucks! It's good to see them taking the time to make it right and 2K has given Irrational Games the benifit of delaying the game(which many developers do not get). Here's to hoping Bioshock Infinite will be worth the it!

Metro Last Light Delayed To Early 2013
According to CVG, THQ in it's updated release schedule has put Metro Last Light to firmly in Q4 for the financial year of 2012, which would put it sometime between January to March 2013. THQ has been having a hard time recently with staff cuts, delays and selling of game projects to potential buyers. Hopefully this will give the Metro team to put out a polished shooter, a worthy sequel to one for the better games from THQ(Relic makes amazing stuff as well).

XCOM, The Shooter Delayed To 2013
GameInformer, in its latest issue seems to have confirmed that 2K has delayed XCOM(the shooter) from 2K Marin to 2013. This news comes at the heels of the announcement of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, a strategy title from Firaxis, the folks that brought you the Civilization series. XCOM has gone through one major design change since its initial reveal back in 2010. Perhaps now with the announcement of Enemy Unknown, much of the rage for turning XCOM into a shooter would... hopefully have been subsided.

Torchlight II Delayed To 2012! Aaaaarrrrghhh!
I was looking forward to this one. Torchlight was one of my favourite indie game made by former Blizzard North guys, the guys that actually made Diablo. Torchlight II was supposed to be released July this year which was delayed to late 2011. Now, designer Travis Baldree posted in the Runic Games blog that they aren't going to make it this year. "We've come to the realization, however, that getting a game of this scope up to the quality and polish level we want to achieve is going to take a little longer; especially since we want to run a small beta before release to ensure that our launch is smooth". He didn't say exactly when they plan to release it. It's done when it's done I suppose :(

Batman: Arkham City Delayed For The PC
We'll be getting it on November instead of the original October 18th. They haven't released a more specific date but I'm assuming the porting process is turning out to be more complex that they expected. So not only is the PC version getting delayed, it will use Games For Windows Live. The extent we PC gamers would go to to play the games we love :s

From Dust Delayed To August
I had my suspicions. From Dust, the strategy game from Ubisoft was supposed to be releasing on Steam on July 27th and yet there isn't a product page for it. And when I checked Gamergate which has the game on sale for pre orders, they stated the release date as August 17th. Ubisoft today confirmed to Joystiq that the game has indeed been delayed to August 17th. That's about three weeks delay. Oh well... I was looking forward to trying it out this week. Will have to wait for it a bit longer.

Rage Delayed By A Month - RAAAAAAGE! October 4th The New Release Date
It’s done says John Carmack, but we’ve got official confirmation today that Rage has been delayed by a month. Bluesnews noted that the game’s official page has the release date stated as October 4th 2011. Rage was supposed to be released on September 13th originally. That sucks. Oh well, waiting for just one more month for a game that has been in development for quite some time(not as long as Duke Nukem Forever though) isn’t so bad I suppose.

Mass Effect 3 Release Date Moved Back To Early 2012
Chris Priestly, Bioware Community Manager confirmed on the official Bioware forums that Mass Effect 3 won’t be released this year. Initially, it was believed that it was targeted for a holiday 2011 release. Executive Producer, Casey Hudson announced ‘Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.’. Hey, if Blizzard can do this(and they are even more notorious), Bioware can delay games as long as they develop a quality title. Also, based on the latest screenshot released, looks like Liara might be a party member(and maybe Kaiden depending on your choices in the first game… maybe). Screenshots below…

F.E.A.R 3 Delayed Again - Releasing June 24th
F.E.A.R 3 which was already delayed once to May 24th, has now been delayed to June 24th. Videogamer reported that GameGears(A UK Retailer) has changed the release date to June 24th and they have got confirmation from Warner Bros. Interactive of the delay. It is highly likely that June 24th is the release date for Europe and North America should usually be a day or two earlier. I’ll update this post when I’ve got confirmation of the new North American release date.

Heroes of Might & Magic VI Delayed To September
Bigdownload.com pointed out that Ubisoft has pushed back the release date for Heroes of Might & Magic VI to September 8th. The game was originally planned to be released on June 21st. Ubisoft announced the delay on the games official forums. The turn based strategy series has always had a hardcore following of fans whom I’m sure will be bitterly disappointed by this news. You’ll just have to wait a little longer.
