League of Legends Developers Riot Games Bought Out By Tencent

In an official announcement on the League of Legends site, Riot Games confirms that China's Internet provider, Tencent, is buying out a major stake in the company. According a a wallstreet report, the buy out will amount to USD$400 million. Riot Games owners and senior staff will also be given stay packages to keep them in the company(as well as maintaining some equity within the company). What this means for Riot Games is more resources and expansion for the company. Riot Games are currently based in California, United Sates. I’m guessing sometime down the road, they might be opening a division in China. Just my guess.
