Cities In Motion, the Transport Tycoon styled transportation management strategy game by Colossal Order is now in open beta. You can now download the beta client from over here. You can read my preview of it here. I thought it was quite good. If given a bit more polish, rebalancing with mission difficulty curve and an improved UI, Cities in Motion could potentially be great. Of course you’d have to like the Tycoon genre in the first place and we know those aren’t very popular these days(except the Facebook derivatives that are basic click fests with no gameplay). Definitely deserves a look if you like strategy games. The open beta will have only Vienna available in sand box mode and one scenario, ‘Part With Petrol’. Basically a build a clean transportation network scenario. It will end on February 20th so hurry. Try it out.
