Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2 Patch 1.3 Brings New Maps

Relic has posted new details about two new 2v2 maps that will be included in the upcoming 1.3 patch. Relic are bringing 2v2 ranked matches to fill the gap between large 3v3 matches and solo 1v1’s. The two new maps are called Medean Cliff mines and Ruins of Argus.

Medean Cliff Mines

Cliff Mines is an awesome looking map where one team begins in an Imperial mining facility and the other in the open desert. The center of the map contains one victory point and some resources and is blocked in with four choke points. Along the outside of the map lay most of the resources and two additional victory points.

Ruins of Argus

Ruins has been referred to internally as a sledgehammer map because of its small size. This map is just slightly larger than a 1v1 map which means no matter where you go you are likely to encounter the enemy. Resources are split evenly between the lower and upper half of the map and the VPs lay symmetrically down the center.

Patch 1.3 also features:

• We are adding a Two-on-Two game mode, with two new four player maps.
Two-on-Two is a ranked game mode with leaderboard support.
• An improved, more challenging Skirmish AI.
• Push to talk voice chat and Company of Heroes style sub-selection options.
• New squad decorators and significant UI improvements.
• A performance test to help measure Dawn of War II performance.
