Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars Multiplayer DLC Announcement Trailer
Here's another Paradox Interactive game announcement. The hardcore medieval sim/action game Mount & Blade: Warband is getting an expansion title Napoleonic Wars. You can probably guess what this expansion adds. This is a multiplayer only expansion that adds new battles units, weapons from the final years of the Napoleonic Wars. I can imagine it now... a line of undisciplined musketmen all running around the field like headless chickens. Trailer and info below...

Crusader Kings II: Ruler Designer DLC Trailer & Info
Paradox Interactive announced a DLC for designing your very own custom ruler in their latest grand strategy game, Crusader Kings II. This is definitely a first for them(at least in my memory). You can even create your own dynasty and your own coat of arms for it. Not sure what the modders will think of this. This DLC is priced at USD$4.99. Watch the DLC announcement trailer below...

Sleeping Dogs Gameplay Highlight Trailer - Story & Driving
Sleeping Dogs, the re-imagined new game from United Front and SquareEnix has got its first batch of gameplay trailer. This trailer showcases driving in Sleeping Dogs. Don't expect super realistic driving here. The driving reminds me of Midnight Club(it was a racing game like Need For Speed: Underground but made by Rockstar). There's the usual illegal street races to hijacking vehicles. I've also embedded a story trailer. Check out the trailers below...

Warhammer 40K Dark Millennium No Longer To Be An MMO
THQ announced today that Warhammer 40K Dark Millennium will now be a single player experience with robust online multiplayer features. It's not going to be an MMO because that would mean investing A LOT of money. "As previously announced, we have been actively looking for a business partner for the game as an MMO. However, based on changing market dynamics and the additional investment required to complete the game as an MMO, we believe the right direction for us is to shift the title from an MMO to a premium experience with single and multiplayer gameplay, robust digital content and community features,” said Brian Farrell, President and CEO of THQ Inc. “Because we believe strongly in the high-quality and vast creative work that is in production, this is the right decision for both our portfolio and for gamers devoted to this powerful property." Furthermore, THQ also announced that Vigil Games and Relic Entertainment has been reduced in size(lay-offs).

Trine 2 Review - The Wizard Is Back!
What does a Wizard, a Warrior, and a Thief... I'm sorry, I meant an entrepreneur,
have in common? They were all in the indie physics puzzle game Trine
released back in 2009. Trine was a physics based co-op platformer that
allowed 2 player to play through the game, solving physics puzzles
along the way while taking on some enemies(mostly trolls). Frozenbyte, the developers of Trine has released a sequel. For Trine
2, Frozenbyte expanded on it quite a bit. The game has more depth in
terms of levelling your character and introduces new physics puzzles and 3 player
co-op(at last!).

Legend of Grimlock Launch Trailer - Goes Back To Old School Dungeon Crawling
It's not released yet, but the old school RPG dungeon crawler from Almost Human(a 4 man indie team) is due out on GoG.com on April 11th. You get a nice 20% discount if you pre order now at USD$11.99(it will be priced at USD$14.99 at launch). I've posted about this game before and what I love about it is that it looks and plays like Wizardry, an old school RPG that takes place all in first person. And it looks really good! Check out the launch trailer below...
Assassin's Creed 3 For The PC Ditching Mouse & Keyboard Support?
Say what? Ubisoft Montreal Creative Director, Alex Hutchinson said in a Gamespy preview of Assassin's Creed 3 "We're definitely supporting PC, we love PC, but I think it'll be PC with a controller. I don't see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin's Creed, you have a controller." Okay I don't remember the last PC game that didn't at least try to support the mouse and keyboard setup(I'm sure there were games that did ditched the good old rodent and keyboard) but this is just weird. Sure, limited resources, time constraint can all be a factor but... but... Anyway, Ubisoft seemed determined that it WILL be released for the PC on 30th October 2012. Perhaps Mr Hutchinson was being a tad bit funny there. If this is indeed the case, I'll be expecting them to announce a delay for the PC version right about a month before the stated release date :s

Max Payne 3 Multiplayer Gameplay Video Part 1 - Take Part In A Gang War
Rockstar has released part one of a two series videos that put the spotlight on the multiplayer mode in Max Payne 3. Multiplayer, a first for the series, retains bullet time. Any player can use bullet time and only player in direct line of sight is affected by it(meaning someone can flank you while in bullet time). Gang Wars is the main multiplayer mode where players take on the role of gang members in an objective based multiplayer game. As each side fulfil or fail an objective the story in the multiplayer game changes... ie a new objective pops up that takes into account the result of the last round... somewhat similar to what BRINK does. Payne Killer is a two player co-op mode... I don't need to say much about this. Watch the video below...

GoG.com To Carry Newer Indie Titles Soon
The good old site for Good Old Games is getting a bit of a renovation. According to Gamespot, they will now be offering newer titles and will be renaming its site to GOG.com. The two debut indie games are Trine and The Whispered World. CD Projekt are sticking to their no DRM stance which will make getting bigger publisher a tricky task. Sure, the big boys may allow their older IP's to be on GOG.com with no DRM, but what about newer titles? So far, GOG.com has hosted The Witcher 2: Assassin's of Kings as the only newly released title. This would make GOG.com a major contender in the digital distribution market(remember, no unnecessary client required to run the game).
GOG.com managing director, Guillaume Rambourg, told Gamespot "Our plan is not to sell past DLC separately, but rather bundle that content with the main game, so that we can offer a massive package at a good price. Again, our aim is to provide value for money to gamers so that they are happy to buy games from us and therefore never fall on the dark side, by which I mean piracy." This is good news for those that want to run their games without any hassle. Just don't expect to buy all the latest games AAA from GOG.com(you can expect indie titles) just yet. Perhaps I'll be forced to eat my hat regarding this.

World of Darkness Ingame Footage - Imagine Vampires Walking In The Streets
EVE Online developers are working on a new MMO called World of Darkness. It's got a flavour of Vampire: The Masquerade in it. Dank, depressing cities with Vampires! It's based off of White Wolf's comic of the same title which is why it looks similar to Vampire: The Masquerade(same IP). There are three principle cities, London, Paris and New York and one player can become the Prince of a city. There's some political mechanic in the game which makes World of Darkness a little unique from other MMO's. Here's a short graphics test video released in a recent EVE Online Fan Fest. CCP promised they will reveal more end of this year. Video below...

Prey 2 Cancelled? My Dreams Of Being Bounty Hunter Shattered
Remember the Prey 2 reveal? They went with a new direction of a bounty hunter hunting vigilantes and had that super cool trailer? Rumours abound that it has been cancelled. Tweets from Human Head's Brain Karis states that Zenimax forced them to cancel all GDC talks on Prey 2 "Yes, Zenimax forced us to pull all Prey2 related talks from GDC. I'm pretty devastated by the news. This was to be my first conf talk." For a title that showed much promise, this seems rather surprising. Prey 2 is a game under the publishing arm of Bethesda... there's no official word from them. Will keep you guys updated on this.

OMGeek's Waveform Review
What makes a computer game different from a movie? If games can look just as good as a movie, and sound just as intense, and provide the same kind of escapism, and elicit just as much emotion from you, then why play games at all?
Could it be that little element of any game that tickles the parts of your brain that says yes or no? Up or down? Blue or red? Merge with an artificial intelligence and become a contemporary techno-god, or plunge the world into a new dark age bereft of modern communication and technology? Interaction. Decision-making. Control.
Ironically, Waveform is the game that it is because of the way that the game takes away some of that control from you. In Waveform, you can’t say up or down because you have no choice but to go up or down. You do have a say in when up ends and down begins, but it’s really not as easy as it looks. Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Announced - No New Baldur's Gate
It turns out it's not a new Baldur's Gate after all. The Baldur's Gate website now has info that Atari, Wizard of The Coast and Overhaul Games are working on Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. The site says the enhanced edition will feature a "re-forged version of the Infinity Engine with a variety of modern improvements". The Enhanced Editions will feature all the expansions. Alan Wake Review - No Bullet Time Here
Well technically, there is some slow mo effect when you fire the flare gun... but I'm not sure if that's just my PC's frame rate taking a dive! I've been a huge fan of Remedy Entertainment since the original release of Max Payne(2001). It was a third person action game that took the world by storm as it unleashed its furious gun fights that were influenced by the John Woo style of violence with beautiful cinematography. In other words... it was the introduction of bullet time and slow mo effects in games. When I read the news that Remedy were working on Alan Wake, I was delighted at first and later horrified that it was to be an XBOX360 exclusive with Microsoft as the publisher. After multiple delays and rumours that the project had been put on hold, Alan Wake finally arrived on the XBOX360 in 2010 and two years later, here it is... on the PC... the platform it was first showcased on.

OMGeek Thermaltake Meka G1 Review
When you are into gaming as much as I am, having a quality keyboard and mouse is very important. I want something that can withstand the abuse I give mashing buttons running through the mean streets of Oman in Battlefield 3, or simply fighting demons with my raid in World of Warcraft. The quality of these can mean the difference between fragging an enemy or being on the receiving side of an RPG to the face.
So today, I’d like to share my experiences with a mechanical keyboard that I have had the privilege of using so far. One thing is for sure, if you are looking for a mech keyboard with macro keys, then this one is not for you. Read the full review here.
