64 Player Caspian Borders Map Will Be Available For Open Beta Testers

Yes, those closed beta testers got a taste of a proper epic scale Battlefield map with Caspian Borders(that's the one with jets in it). Now you can too! DICE state on Battlelog that the 64 player map will be appearing in the open beta. They plan to test run this map till weekend so make the most out of it! According to PC Gamer, Caspian Borders servers are already appearing on Battlelog.

Need For Speed: The Run Trailer - Cop Chase

EA has released another trailer for Need For Speed: The Run, this time showing some cop chase in a mountainous region. Okay I got to admit that I was pretty down from the E3 demo they did. The game is using the same engine powering Battlefield 3 and that demo didn't look good to me. But this new trailer looks awesome. I think they are polishing the graphics near to release. Rockstar Answers(Yet Doesn't Answer) Question Regarding Lack Of Red Dead Redemption PC Port

With the impending release of LA Noire(perhaps one of the fastest announced PC Port since release for a Rockstar game), the question remains... when are they going to port Red Dead Redemption to the PC. A Rockstar spokesperson wrote in the Rockstar blog "We do know that, yes, there is just one title absent from our PC release plans – that game of course being Red Dead Redemption, and of course we’re well aware that some fans have been asking for it". He further added "All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform) – we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100 percent of the time for all platforms." Of course this means it is not likely to come to the PC, but on the other hand, didn't they say the same thing for Grand Theft Auto IV? Want To Unlock High Res Textures For Rage?

Apparently there are two higher texture resolution options locked in the game. An article on Geforce.com explains that to unlock high res textures, you'll need a graphic card with 1.5GB of VRAM. There's even a higher res option than that but will require 3GB of VRAM. Based on reports, the game barely goes below the much touted 60fps(but you'll need a graphic card that'll be able to put in the work of course). Go here and read the instructions.... it requires some editing of the config files.

Victoria II: A House Divided Announced!

Paradox announced that Victoria II is getting an expansion. That's hardly a surprise though, I've been expecting this since the game hasn't had a single expansion since release(and Paradox releases expansions pretty often). Victoria II: A House Divided like any Paradox expansion, further refines the game and adds new systems that is bound to excite any grognard. It's due out Q1 2012. Battlefield 3 Beta Is A Huge Success! 12 Million Participants

Must be some sort of record for EA. DICE announced that the 12 million figure is six times larger than the beta they had for Battlefield Bad Company 2 which attracted some 2 million players. Just a note on the figures for BC2 though, the beta figure was mostly from the console beta as the PC beta ran much later. Battlefield 3's beta ran simultaneously across all platforms. It is interesting to note though that DICE General Manager, Karl Magnus Troedsson, noted that the beta is a month old build. He said "Just like normal procedure when releasing a game, the Open Beta has had long lead times due to testing, certification, and setting up. This means that the code you are now playing is actually quite early and not representative of the final game." The beta was also a stress test for their back end servers apart from picking out balance issues. Give yourselves a pat on the back soldiers! Now if you haven't voted in The Software Boutique's poll whether you're in favour of a midnight launch, vote here. Not confirmed yet, but might happen.

LA Noire Heading To The PC On November 8th - System Requirements Out

Rockstar announced today that the PC version of LA Noire will be releasing on November 8th(November 13th for Europe). I was getting a little worried what with all the news about Team Bondi fall out with Rockstar and the closure its studio. But not to worry, the PC port is handled by Rockstar Leeds. A Complete Edition of PC version will include all the released DLC for the game. I presume if you buy the normal version, there will be option to purchase these DLC's.
