SHIFT 2 Unleashed DLC’s For The PC Will Be Released For Free

At least the first two that has been released for the consoles. You might remember that I posted a while ago that EA has announced that the GT Legends and Speed Hunters DLC for SHIFT 2 Unleashed has been confirmed to be releasing on the PC. It’s been a while, but I promise you the wait… might have been worth it. Because EA released a press release that both these DLC’s will be release for free for all PC players. Best part, it’s coming out on June 30th!

SHIFT 2 Unleashed PC DLC’s Confirmed! Details Coming Soon

Is this more hot air? Or something real? EA confirmed on the official NFS Facebook page that they have confirmed the release of the paid DLC’s for SHIFT 2 Unleashed for the PC. This was what was posted on the Facebook page, “For all our PC players, we JUST got official confirmation that the SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED PDLC will be available on PC! More details coming as soon as we have them”. So far, they’ve released two DLC’s for SHIFT 2, the first; GT Legends and the latest; SpeedHunters Pack(all of them for the consoles… so far). Check out the trailer for the latest DLC below…

Second DLC For SHIFT 2 Announced - Still No News For PC Gamers

EA has put up a new trailer announcing The Speedhunters DLC for SHIFT 2 Unleashed that will be available on XBOXBlive and PSN on May 17th. Still no news on the release of the first DLC, GT Legends, for the PC. EA tweeted that PC gamers should stay tuned for an announcement back in April. After some digging around in the forums, I found that Slightly Mad Studios had patched in PC DLC support in the second patch (it was stated in the patch notes) with an added note that it was a publisher driven release decision. Not exactly sure what that means but I think the ball in in EA’s court. It is up to them to release the DLC for PC whenever they want. And their track record isn’t very encouraging(with similar ordeals with Burnout Paradise and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit DLC’s not released on the PC). This shifty behaviour(no pun intended) from EA is very unbecoming of a large PC game publisher. They should come right out if the DLC’s wont be available for the PC instead of playing the wait for announcements game. Maybe they’re afraid of lost sales because of not having DLC’s for the PC, but EA! Do the right thing!

SHIFT 2 Unleashed GT Legends DLC Trailer - PC Announcement Coming Soon?

EA put up a trailer for the upcoming DLC for SHIFT 2 Unleashed. GT Legends apart from adding classic race cars will also add new race tracks. The thing is, it is announced only for XBOX live and PSN for now and will cost USD$9.99 for the consoles. But don’t worry, EA has stated on twitter(no less) that you should stay tuned for a ‘PC announcement’. Not sure what they have in plan for the PC and why it should warrant a separate announcement. For now, enjoy the GT legends trailer below…

SHIFT 2 Unleashed Review - Unleash The Raw Power Of Your Car

Need For Speed Shift confused many people when it was first released. EA decided to attach the Need For Speed name to a half way simulation racing game and that rubbed a few people the wrong way. For Shift 2, EA has wisely dropped Need For Speed from the title of the game(although the words Need For Speed is still on the box, at the bottom). Shift 2 Unleashed, slightly over a year after the release of the first, takes the formula Shift introduced, tweaks it a little, improves the bits around it.

Shift 2 Unleashed Launch Trailer - Shifting Gears, Bad Pun I know

I was completely lost on this. Apparently EA has dropped the Need For Speed title from Shift 2. Not a big deal but I think this move has more to do about stuff perhaps some other studio is working on? Anyway, Shift 2 is releasing next Tuesday over here in Malaysia(March 29th) and EA has launched the launch trailer. Again, before the game has been launched. Launch trailer below…

Need For Speed Shift 2 Unleashed Tommy Milner Auto Trailer - A Lap Around Laguna Seca

Do you think you can beat a professional race car driver at his own game(pun intended)? Tommy Milner does a lap around the infamous Laguna Seca using a Corvette C6.R GT1. He’s also put up his game ID for you to add and try to beat his time. I’m not sure if I can, he’s using a wheel. But very impressive run, clean, no accidents. All the footage of the racing here are in game(obviously he’s playing the game). Need For Speed Shift 2 will be in stores on April 1st.  Trailer below…
