Mass Effect 2 Arrival DLC Trailer - Earth May Fall To The Reapers

The final DLC for Mass Effect 2 has a trailer. Arrival which acts as a prelude to Mass Effect 3 ‘arrives’ on March 29th(most likely tomorrow for us here in Asia). I’ve heard that you’ll be playing this DLC just with Sheppard solo. You wont be getting any new companions(as far as we know). The ‘outcome’ of this DLC might be interesting as we know the reapers are going to invade earth regardless whatever happens in your game with this DLC. I wonder how Bioware are going to make a satisfying ending to this one. Trailer below…

Mass Effect 2 DLC Confirmed - Releasing March 29th

There’s news that EA Germany has confirmed that a new DLC for Mass Effect 2 titled 'Arrival' will be released on March 29th. According to VG247, the announcement said something to the effect(no pun intended) of Sheppard being sent to the borders of the galaxy to rescue an agent who has information on an impending reaper invasion. Admiral Hackett will be back for a major role too. Sounds like it’s a prelude to the events in Mass Effect 3(holiday 2011). The DLC will be available for all platforms. Apparently this will also be the final DLC for Mass Effect 2.

Mass Effect 2 Officially Announced UPDATED

UPDATE : bigdownload.com confirmed that EA has announced that Mass Effect 2 is in development. It is planned to be released in Q1 2010(as we know these things can get delayed). And I quote:

Specific info on the game itself was not revealed but the execs did say it would be coming for "multiple platforms" for release in their fiscal fourth quarter of 2010. That means a release date for sometime between January and March 2010. Of course, the original Mass Effect was published by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 in 2007 before EA bought BioWare. The PC version (which you can see a screenshot above) was released by EA in May 2008.

Shacknews wrote a news story that Bioware is working on Mass Effect 2. The details were leaked by the listing of this years Game Developer Conference schedule that listed a Bioware Project Managers talk on "New Level Creation Process For Mass Effect 2". It said:

BioWare project manager Corey Andruko and lead technical designer Dusty Everman will host an hour-long session titled "The Iterative Level Design Process of Bioware's MASS EFFECT 2," which will detail the team's "new level-creation process."

GDC will be held on 23rd march to 27th and is mainly a conference for developers. It is speculated that Bioware will make a press statement about the game before this date.
