Black Mesa Source Is Actually Releasing! It Shall Be Good To Return To Black Mesa In High-Res
A mod that has been in development for aeon's. The first trailer for Black Mesa Source was released back in 2008. No word since... until today, the appearance of an ominous timer counting down 10 days. Black Mesa Source is a mod that recreates the original Half Life using Valve's Source engine. Black Mesa takes the story a little further by adding new stuff past the original Half Life levels... for those that can't get enough of Half Life lore, these stuff will make you go insane. Makes it oh so pretty. Using source, you favourite FPS classic will now sport sharper textures and more advanced lighting. September 14th is the date that hell freezes over... I mean Black Mesa Source gets its first release. Keep an eye out on the official site. Check out the first official trailer below

UPDATE Gabe Newell Hints At A Game With A '3' In It Announcement At E3 - Or Is He trolling?
UPDATE: Marc Laidlaw from Valve told Lambda Generation stated there is no ARG at this moment. So are you convinced? Or are they being shifty? Or is it just the community getting too impatient with Valve and Half Life?
PC Gamer wrote a piece about how 4chan wrote Gabe Newell an email consisting of a single word contributed by 4chan forumers. Surprisingly they got a reply stating that they would be announcing everything they like at E3. He further clarified on reddit that they will be announcing something with a 3 at next years E3. Okay so the post on reddit cannot be verified but Valve are clearly up to something. There's a video on Gametrailers of the VGA's that contains codes and hidden messages(it's for Wheatley being nominated for best video game character). And then there was the Valve guy who wore a Half Life 3 t-shirt. Hmmmm Trolling? Or a build up to something... something big?

Valve Wont Be Revealing Anything At E3 This Year - Half Life Fan Boys Heartbroken
Rock Paper Shotgun reported that Valve has sent out emails to the press that they wont be showing any title at this year’s E3. Awww no Half Life 3 Episode 3 reveal just yet. There’s been some leaked stuff about Valve bringing in people for focus testing and such so we know for a fact that they are indeed working on it. But you’ll just got to wait a little longer for news about our beloved Half Life 2. Not going to happen next month I’m afraid. Thanks RPS... I guess for bringing this sad news. Not bitter at all...

Opposing Force 2 Mod Demo Released
The mod team that is developing a sequel to Gearbox’s Half Life expansion, Opposing Force, has released a small demo of the project. The demo is a sand box level of the game set in a stadium. This level wont be in the final release but is more of a tech debug where you can spawn different items and enemies and play around with them. The mod will feature both single player(also promising a coop mode that will allow you and a friend to play the entire campaign cooperatively) and multiplayer and will introduce a lot of new content from new enemy types to new weapons. Check out the mod page here with more details of the project. You can download the demo here. You’ll need Half Life 2: Episode 2 to run this.
