Battlefield 3 Two Player Coop Will Span Ten Missions - No Portals Here
PC Gamer posted that DICE has spilled the beans regarding a coop mode in Battlefield 3. In the latest issue of PSM3, they revealed that the coop mode will be 10 missions long and will be completely separate from the main single player campaign(taking a leaf off of Portal 2 I suppose). What's a tad bit disappointing is… 2 players only. What’s this? A puzzle game? To be fair, I’m not sure if this is specifically for the console version or it will be the same on the PC(for coop… most likely it will be the same). They didn’t mention if there will be a storyline for the coop bits… but I reckon it will.

Left 4 Dead 2 Midnight Riders DLC Confirmed - Midnight Riders Keep On Rollin’
Valve, in a post in the L4D blog, confirmed that they are working on a Midnight Riders DLC for Left 4 Dead 2. The Midnight Riders is a rock band set in the Left 4 Dead 2 world and those that have played L4D2 would have seen their handy work(and posters). The finale for Dark Carnival took place in a Midnight Riders concert venue(wtih the band missing of course). Valve are saying they are doing moving away from the usual story tied to the DLC. They want to expand the world of Left 4 Dead. Personally I’ve been waiting for this DLC, the Midnight Riders are badass. Also Valve wants your opinion whether you want a Midnight Riders comic(yes Valve, I want). You can vote in this week’s in game poll(in L4D2). Enjoy one of their hit singles below…

You and your buddies will be able to give him the smack down come Spring 2011. The game will also have DLC levels that you possibly have to purchase. The Journey begin trailer below…

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City Gameplay Trailer - Kill Leon Kennedy
There’s some new info from Capcom about the third person coop shooter(you will be able to play it in single player too), Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City. The big take away from the presentation at the press event was that this was not going to be just Left 4 Dead. Developed by Slant Six Games(that did the some of the SOCOM games), it is to be a much faster paced third person action game with different class types. You can’t jump though so it’s not going to turn into Left 4 Dead because we know that’s the most unique bit about Left 4 Dead(not). Seriously though, what seems most interesting is the fact that your ‘target’ is usually a human and the zombies are just around the level. Killing zombies is not your mission. It is due out in Q4 2011. First gameplay trailer below(the quality isn't that great. I’ll upload a better version if I find one). I’ve also posted an IGN video interview with the game producer…

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime Coming Out March 23rd
Atari announced that the downloadable coop action title, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime will be released for the PC on March 23rd. The game will feature four player coop and should be relatively cheap(pricing not announced). They say it will be a downloadable title for the PC but have not clarified on which digital distribution platform it will be on(I’m guessing most major ones). Multiplayer trailer below…

The game is being published by Bethesda and features a multiplayer coop campaign supporting two players. Due out June 4th for the PC, PS3 and XBOX350, there’s a new 8 minutes video out on the net showcasing part of the cut scenes and combat sections of the game. Left 4 Dead 2 DLC In The Works - Community Made Campaign & Left 4 Dead 1 Campaigns
In a blog post on the Left 4 Dead 2 official blog, Valve confirmed they will be releasing a big update for Left 4 Dead 2. According to the post, Valve are working together with community modder Matthew Lourdelet who did 2 Evil Eyes on a new custom campaign called Cold Stream. In addition to this community made campaign, Valve will also be looking at porting the remaining Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns into Left 4 Dead 2. These updates have no release date and Valve are saying it will be sometime after the release of Portal 2. Valve will be releasing the Cold Stream campaign as a beta soon and will be taking feedback from the forum here. It’s been too quiet on the Left 4 Dead front recently. Glad to see more work being put into it.

Left 4 Dead Crash Course DLC Comes Crashing 29th September
It’s been a while we’ve heard any news about the new DLC for Left 4 Dead and Valve has announced that Crash Course will be out September 29 2009. The new DLC will feature two new maps(for both campaign and versus) with all new finale events.
From shacknews:
Following through on its promise to deliver a batch of Left 4 Dead downloadable content by September's end, developer Valve today dated the "Crash Course" add-on for a September 29 release.
The download--free on PC, 560 MS Points ($7) on Xbox 360--brings new maps to the zombie shooter for use in Campaign and Versus. New Survival maps are included as well.
"The primary goal of Crash Course is to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, resulting in a streamlined version of the game's existing Versus campaigns," explained the company.
Though Left 4 Dead 2 is due out November 17, the company has pledged to "keep supporting Left 4 Dead 1," with more content apparently coming after Crash Course.

E3 2009: Left 4 Dead 2 Announced! Debut Teaser
Yes it is true. A sequel to Left 4 Dead was announced during the E3 Microsoft press conference. This is the debut teaser shown. Also shown below is a whole bunch gameplay video from IGN:
June 1, 2009 - Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2), the sequel to the best-selling and critically-acclaimed co-operative multiplayer thriller.
Coming exclusively to Xbox 360 and PC, L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-operative action games and become one of 2009's marquee titles.
"A large part of how Left 4 Dead became 2008's top-selling new IP on Xbox 360 and the PC was the custom-tailored gameplay made possible by the AI Director," said Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve. "With the knowledge gained from creating the original, new technology, and a passionate team, L4D2 will set a new benchmark for cooperative action games."
Set for release on November 17, the title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more.
Introducing the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.
Featuring new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, and maps for Survival mode available at launch.
Supported by a $10+ million marketing campaign, Left 4 Dead has sold over 2.5 million retail copies since it was released in November of 2008. Left 4 Dead 2 is targeted for release on Xbox 360 and the PC on November 17, 2009, and will be launched worldwide with a multi-million dollar marketing campaign across TV, Outdoor, and Online.
"Left 4 Dead was backed by our most aggressive advertising campaign to date, and resulted in a top 5 showing on two platforms during holiday 2008," said Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. "Left 4 Dead 2 is a larger game and will be supported with even more consumer and retail advertising programs than the original."
Left 4 Dead 2 will be featured as the cover story on PC Gamer and Official Xbox Magazines this month.

Left 4 Dead Matchmaking Getting Tweaked
In a blog post in the Left 4 Dead blog, Zoid Kirsch from Valve posted that users will have the ability to find third party campaigns and utilise team based versus match making. And I quote:
To support the SDK, we are extending the matchmaking system to allow for third party campaigns. We will be adding extra features so players will be able to find dedicated servers running the campaigns they have installed. They will also be able to see friends playing third party campaigns, and be directed to download them as necessary. Another major feature we are planning to add to the matchmaking system at a future date is team-based Versus matching. This will allow two teams of four to locate each other and compete in a Versus match.
The regular matchmaking is also getting tweaked, no details about it other than watch out for the next blog post. The Left 4 Dead Survival Pack is due out on April 21st and the SDK should follow shortly after.
