Grand Theft Auto V Release Date Set As Spring 2013 - No PC Release Yet
Rockstar confirms that Grand Theft Auto V will be heading to the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 in Spring 2013. In a post on their official forums "we're currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don't have any details to share about a PC version at this time". As a general rule of thumb, Rockstar has always focused on consoles and often ported their game to the PC a year later. My hope is for Grand Theft Auto V to be released on the PC as a solid port with no performance issues. I guess we PC gamers will have to wait for quite a while.

Primal Carnage Launch Trailer - Dinosaurs Humans, The Never ending Battle
Available now on Steam, for USD$14.99, the indie multiplayer dinosaur vs human gqame, Primal Carnage has a launch trailer to celebrate its release. Looks interesting with 10 distinct classes and 5 huge maps, a new take on the Left 4 Dead versus mode. I've seen a few similar themed game, none great so far. Will this buck the trend? Possibly plans for allowing playing to buy in game credits using real world money for multiplayer vanity items. Worthplaying found this description "Buying this pack will grant you 925 Erudito Credits ingame, allowing you to acquire some game items, disregarding your current level." Ubisoft hasn't made any official announcement, but the console versions will be out today, while the PC version ships November 20th.

Assassin's Creed III Launch Trailer - PC Release November 20th
Ubisoft has released the launch trailer for Assassin's Creed III a week before the console release. The PC release is on November 20th. Ubisoft just love their dubstep(I've heard dubstep being used in so many of their trailers). Assassin's Creed III is a step up from the previous games in the series... so claims Ubisoft. Traversal is more organic and you can climb on natural obstacles like trees and cliff edges. And now 2 enemies can attack you at a time... now that's a step up. Watch the launch trailer below...

SimCity Dated March 8th 2013 - The City Building Classic Will Make Its Return Early Next Year
EA Maxis' SimCity, a new take on the city building classic has got a release date. SimCity will be releasing March 8th 2013. The game will be available for the PC and Mac. SimCity looks to be simplified from a management standpoint(no more water pipes, power) but really... they've made the part that has been frustrating out and made it easier for people to just pick up and play. The simulation aspect has been maintained and even expanded. You can watch the two latest videos on the game below. One a gameplay demonstration by EA Maxis developers and the other a trailer focusing on disasters...

Firaxis Announces XCOM: Enemy Unknown Slingshot DLC
It's a 2K game and people have been speculating(and even finding hidden achievements) there will most definitely be DLC's for the game. Today 2K Games announced the first DLC for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Slingshot. This DLC will add new 3 mission story arc mission in China first rescuing a VIP, and then he'll join your squad and finally tackling a massive Alien UFO. Unfortunately Firaxis has clarified that the Asian themed maps will only appear in the DLC story arc and will not appear in random encounters in China. Completing this DLC story arc will give you access to the blaster launcher research. No new equipment or abilities, there will be new customisable looks though. A little odd of a choice for a DLC since XCOM is supposed to be a very replayable game with random encounters... this one is like a tiny story that stays the same and is much shorter than the main storyline. They have just announced that release is 'soon'.

Far Cry 3 Open World Walkthrough Demonstrates The Size Of The Island
Ubisoft has posted a 13 minute walkthrough of Far Cry 3 with commentary from Ubisoft developers working on the game. Most the the trailer and walkthrough so far has focused much on the combat and perhaps that hasn't been a good demonstration of the open-world nature of the game. This walkthrough is all about choosing your own path in the world of Far Cry 3. Watch the video walkthrough below...
The Elder Scrolls Online Screenshots Show Beasties, Battles & Gorgeous Environments
MMO fans have been clamouring for an Elder Scrolls Online for years. How awesome would it be if you could travel all of Tamriel. An open seamless world. When Bethesda announced Elder Scrolls Online was being developed by an internal team within Zenimax(the parent company of Bethesda) many were not too enthused about it. Sure, screenshots alone would not do any game justice... but at least it lives up to Bethesda's epic single player Elder Scrolls titles. The Elder Scrolls Online is due out later in 2013

Hitman Absolution Disguises Trailer - How To Fool People Into Thinking You're Someone You're Not
It's obvious that you will be able to be in disguise in Hitman Absolution. There's some small touches that IO Interactive has put into the disguise system that makes it a little believable(like the bar code at the back of Agent 47 being plastered to conceal it). Check out the disguises Agent 47 can don in this new trailer. Look out for the chicken suit, which is a throwback to one of the best mission in a Hitman game, A Murder of Crows. Watch it below...

Total War: Rome 2 Debut Gameplay Footage From Gamespot - The Siege of Carthage
Gamespot has an exclusive gameplay video that shows us for the very first time... a battle in Total War: Rome 2. Thanks to Dan Hamid from our Facebook page for the heads up. With commentary from Lead Designer James Russel, this is a siege of Carthage, Rome's traditional and most deadliest enemy. The battle starts of with a very cinematic intro with your soldiers disembarking from their ships... a combined battle they call it. Sieges now look and feel like a real siege, which is very cool. The tactical views is a welcome addition as I always had issues scouting the battlefield in the original Rome Total War as the camera was restricted to the vicinity of your army. Cities now multiple capture points which I'm not sure would make city battles good. Always has been the weakest point of the Total War games. Total War: Rome II releases some time in 2013. Watch the gameplay demo below...

Tilted Mill Announces Medieval Mayor - Developing Their Classic Style of City Builder
Classic city builder developer, Tilted Mill Entertainment has announced a new city builder they're working on. It's been quite a while since they've done one of these with the last games being hybrid action RPG's and strategy games(Hinterland). Medieval Mayor takes places in the dark ages. Build roads, housing, give them arts and science. Civilise them and avoid bankruptcy, build a thriving city and all that jazz. Based on the press release, it seems like there is a focus on making the game more accessible... which often spells doom to those that love our games to have more depth. But details are lacking for me to make any definite judgement on this. I would guess that they would somewhat maintain the walker system from the previous games (Children of Nile, Zeus, Caesar III and Pharaoh). Medieval Mayor is targeted for a 2013 release for PC and tablets.

Cliff Blezinski Parts Ways With Epic Games
The most recognisable figure from Epic Games, Cliff Blezinski has announced his departure from the game development studio. In the industry for 20 years developing classic like Jazz Jackrabbit, Unreal and Gears of War, Cliff was one of those figures you always saw a lot of in major game exhibition/conventions. He did not say what he'll be doing, but stated he needs a much needed break away from the gaming industry and wants to move on to his next stage in his career. "I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager, and outside of my sabbatical last year, I have been going non-stop. I literally grew up in this business, as Mike likes to say. And now that I’m grown up, it’s time for a much needed break." Cliff wrote in his personal note to colleagues. Love him or hate him... he had a hand in shaping the gaming industry and the trends we see in games. You will be missed Cliff.

The War Z Colorado World Map Trailer & Gameplay Footage - Survive The Zombie Apocalypse
Hammerpoint Interactive put out this environment tailer for their upcoming The Warz Z online shooter. The game borrows heavily from the popular Day Z mod for Arma 2 and has been criticised for 'ripping off' the idea from Day Z. Regardless whether they have or not, it looks good. Now that Day Z creator and Bohemia Interactive are working on a standalone Day Z, there going to be quite a bit of competition in this zombie survival online shooter genre. Planned for a fall 2012 release so keep your eye out on more details. I've included a rampage gameplay footage and the new Colorado trailer below...
