EA announced that the massive scale shooters, Battlefield 3, has sold a total of 8 million copies to date. GameInformer reported that EA's Chief Financial Officer, Eric Brown stated that they've shipped a total of 12 million copies to retailer. Battlefield 3 sold 5 million copies during he first week. For a bit of comparison, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 sold 6.5 million units in the first 24 hours of its release. It's still a tonne of sales for EA, possibly a record for them in recent times.
